After just one season of a three-year contract, Connacht Rugby are reported to be set to part ways with Head Coach Kieran Keane.

It has been a difficult season out west as Connacht failed to make any meaningful impact in the Pro14, winning just seven games and finishing three points ahead of bottom of the table Zebre. According to the Irish Independent, Keane is set to leave the province with an announcement expected. Reports indicate a search for a replacement are already underway.

Keane took over from Pat Lam last year, having worked with the Chiefs prior to that. Over the course of the year, he publicly criticised the Connacht players on several occasions and questioned their courage in November.

We have a great defence coach who works tirelessly, and I really feel for him for the effort he has put in. It's brought about a bit of a change, but courage? You can't coach courage and stuff like that, so it's difficult for him.

Connacht's season is now over, ensuring there is considerable time to consider candidates available.
