Ireland and Leinster star Cian Healy has landed himself in a bit of controversy after a sending this tweet yesterday.
So I'm going to a kesha gig at pride in Hollywood tonight... Should be interesting! #BacksToTheWall 😂
— Cian Healy (@ProperChurch) June 14, 2015
Cian is on his holiers in California and he was off to a Kesha gig at a Pride event in LA. Before that he sent the tweet which included a hashtag which, although undoubtedly meant as a joke, has certainly caused quite a bit of offence.
Singer Brian Kennedy was one of the most vocal in his opposition to the rather questionable hashtag. However, he certainly wasn't the only one.
@ProperChurch " backstothewall"?? I didn't think anyone talked like that anymore. How deeply disappointing in one so young.

Something tells me Cian Healy will regret his "funny" tweet.

@ProperChurch Ireland-the first in the world to vote yes to equality and u throw us back to dark ages with this rubbish?? Wow. Disappointing — Jenny (@Jenny_85m) June 14, 2015
Despite that there were quite a few voices defending Healy, with many saying that it was simply a joke that is being taken too far.
@KennedySinger what? U don't think people make jokes anymore. Down off your high horse 'Dr' @ProperChurch is totally a top anyway. ?

@ProperChurch oh wait for the humourless liberal backlash on that hashtag!! Tongue in cheek lovelies!! #BacksToTheWall #rearendcianhealy — Gee Dee (@dawg_ie) June 14, 2015
Healy, who was a vocal supporter of a 'Yes' vote in the marriage equality referendum, replied to Kennedy that it was simply a light hearted comment that was being taken too far.
@KennedySinger why would I be at a pride gig if I meant offence by that comment? It's a light hearted tweet. Sorry if it was taken wrong.
— Cian Healy (@ProperChurch) June 14, 2015
Kennedy, for his part, was not exactly taking that as an apology.
@ProperChurch " sorry if it was taken wrong" ? You clearly don't get it. At least you had the good grace to reply. #FoodForThought — Dr BRIAN KENNEDY (@KennedySinger) June 14, 2015
