Cian Healy was a notable omission when Leinster announced their list of contract renewals on Tuesday. The loosehead prop was due to be out of contract this summer.
That situation has been resolved today with announcement that Healy has signed a new deal with the IRFU which will keep him at Leinster for the next three years.

There was speculation that Healy could exit Leinster during the summer. A fortnight ago, The Irish Times linked the 28-year-old with a move to Aviva Premiership side Worcester Warriors. As usual with such specualtion, it now simply looks like leverage to attain a slightly better contract.
IRFU performance director David Nucifora, who would have been a major part of negotiations with Healy, described him as one of the most 'explosive' players in the sport right now.
Cian is one of the most explosive athletes in world rugby and has proven for both Ireland and Leinster his ability to compete at the highest levels of the game. We are delighted that Cian has committed to playing in Ireland up until after the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
