Christian Brothers College Cork have defeated Presentation Brothers 17-10 to claim a first Munster School's Senior Cup since they shared the title with their cross-city rivals in 2020.
In what was a classic tale of two halves, Presentation were utterly dominant in the opening period and got their rewards when Bobby O'Callaghan dotted across the whitewash after two sensational runs.
Daniel Murphy made no mistake with the conversion, and followed up with another three points shortly after, bringing Presentation's tally to a well-deserved ten points heading down the tunnel.
While the eventual runners-up looked considerably more dangerous in the opening minutes of the second half, it was CBC who struck first, reducing the deficit to 3 thanks to a Charlie O'Shea try and conversion.
With the game in the balance, Leo O'Leary intercepted a textbook Presentation move and ran CBC into the lead with a 64th-minute try. Captain O'Shea once again added the honours and then advanced the gap to seven with a penalty to secure what half an hour before seemed like the most unlikely of victories.

Mad scenes as CBC claim Munster Schools title
While often the Munster Schools competition is overlooked for its more publicised counterpart in Leinster, there was no fear of the Christians fans going unnoticed after Wednesday's win in Virgin Media Park.
The final whistle hadn't even blown when the CBC fans stormed the field for the first time as Charlie O'Shea was setting up a penalty that would have made it a two-score game.

When the full-time whistle eventually went sixty seconds later, a manically celebrating sea of red engulfed the CBC half of Virgin Media Park, with students of all ages sprinting from the stands to celebrate with their victorious classmates.
From adorning their young players on shoulder tops to filling the Cork air with flares it was fair to say that the school thoroughly enjoyed their win over Presentation.
