Canadians took to their TVs, not quite in droves, to watch Ireland dish out an inevitable hammering on Saturday.
It left many Canucks wishing that they were playing Ireland at ice hockey rather than rugby. To be fair, the Canadian rugby team probably plays at a much higher level in their sport than the Irish hockey team does in theirs. We'll hand them the victory in that one.
Here's how some Canadians on Twitter watching the game reacted.

Lost the match, won the trousers.@RugbyCanada https://t.co/d2uzUgxBXt

Away from rugby matters... these are definitely our favourite trousers of the day #CAN #RWC2015 #stronglook ? pic.twitter.com/ha3tWFTeUs

Some players
Tough day at the office. Time to refocus and correct the mistakes. Italy in a week. @RugbyCanada @UnderArmour @rugbyworldcup

That yellow card killed us. We can't be gifting teams opportunities like that in this competition. They will destroy us like shown today.

A physical, hard fought game but the mutual respect between our countries runs deep @IrishRugby #CAN #IRE pic.twitter.com/DEHja2S6r2

The odd person with a bit of knowledge
Shame that @IrishRugby feel they have to bodycheck kickers at 29 nil !?

Sexton leaves the field not a hair outta place :) #backs #RWC2015

The lads who want to play us in ice hockey
Canada may have been destroyed in rugby today by Ireland, but if this was hockey it would've been the other way around

Good display by Ireland But I'd like to see the Irish play ice hockey. #IREvCAN
— Troy (@Troylittleworld) September 19, 2015
I'm willing to bet if Canada played Ireland in hockey that we'd win 50-7.

The realists
Ah well. Best stick to hockey. Johnny Sexton helps Ireland to half-century against Canada in World Cup #rwc http://t.co/6DOeD0kXr8

I see the Canadian men's rugby team did as well as expected.

Well that was a hell of a shalacking. Ireland vs Canada #RugbyWorldCup #rugby2015

So much of watching Canadian Rugby is wondering if they are even going to score.
