Bryan Habana was forced to deny a story on Thursday which claimed the South African rugby international had been killed in a drive-by shooting in Paris.
A dubious looking website titled 'Houston News' had posted the story this week. It also claimed Habana was 'found in a pool of blood, strangled to death.'
In a video recorded in the south of France, the very much alive Habana assured fans that all was well.
Apparently there has been, or there is, a massive rumour or false story going around that I have been killed. As you can see I'm all alive and doing well and enjoying the south of France.
Unbelievably disturbing that people can do stuff out there that has a massive impact on people's lives, and stuff like this is actually just unbelievable.
Habana, who has 122 caps for the Springboks, currently plays for Top 14 side Toulon.
