Not much needs to be said. We can put a brave face on it all we want but it's shitty. We'd like to dress that up a bit and use some more expressive language but what's the point really? It's a shitty way for an international career of that magnitude to end.
He was supposed to get the send off. He was supposed to get the Brian O'Driscoll treatment.
It's a fact of sport and life that you don't always get what you want or deserve. We have to deal with that over the next few weeks but that's not to say we can't lament it right now. And O'Driscoll himself has put that into 140 characters as well as anyone could.
