Mack Hansen was one of Ireland's heroes in last night's Rugby World Cup thriller against South Africa, with the Aussie man touching down for Ireland's only try of the game.
However, it could have ended disastrously for the winger, who nearly dived over the dead ball line as he was touching down for his first-half score, in an attempt to get as close to the posts as possible.
In the ITV studios after the match, Brian O'Driscoll described a similar experience when he scored his first try for Ireland, in the 1999 World Cup against the USA.
In fairness to Mack Hansen he tries to get in under the sticks as much as he can.
I did the exact same thing in my first ever World Cup, my first ever try, and I wished I hadn’t.
You’re trying to do your teammate a solid, making the kick easier, and then you nearly cost seven points. But it was brilliant and that was the momentum swing that they needed.
They’d taken all the pressure, they’d soaked it up, and then they counter punched.

"It was like a Grand Slam on steroids out there. It was crazy," said Hansen after the match.
"It seemed like there was 800,000.
"It was incredible out there and we needed every single one of them to get a job done against a really good South African side.
"They are so big and physical and they showed up tonight. The fans got us over the line there."
