Ulster Rugby have confirmed today that Les Kiss will leave his post as Director of Rugby by mutual consent, effective immediately.

Head Coach and former New Zealand rugby union player Jono Gibbes will assume responsibility for all coaching matters and will lead the current coaching team of Dwayne Peel, Aaron Dundon and Niall Malone.

Operations Director, Bryn Cunningham, will manage the off-field operations of the professional team.

In 2014, Kiss became the interim director of rugby at Ulster after the departures of Mark Anscombe and David Humphreys. Kiss impressed in his work with the Irish rugby team, particularly as Joe Schmidt's defence coach.

However, Ulster have endured a poor season thus far. They crashed out of Europe in the group stages and failed to develop any real consistency throughout.

Ulster take on Southern Kings in just over a week, although the club confirmed that a review will be conducted to ascertain if additional coaching expertise is required.

They also thanked Kiss for the work done.

Ulster Rugby would like to thank Les for his commitment and wish him well in his future career.
