Two former coaches in Irish rugby, Declan Kidney and Les Kiss, are set for a return to rugby management this week. The pair are reported to be joining up to join the management team of Premiership sinkers London Irish.
Irish are currently bottom of the table, 12 points adrift of Worcester. The Telegraph are reporting Kidney and Kiss have joined forces to form a fresh coaching ticket at London Irish. Current Irish director of rugby Nick Kennedy is reported to be still contracted to the club.
Declan Kidney enjoyed prolonged success with Munster and Ireland, famously delivering a Heineken Cup and Grand Slam respectively.
Les Kiss had worked with the Irish senior side before taking the head job at Ulster. However, that proved to be a testing task and last month it was announced Kiss was to leave the role with immediate effect. It seems he is set for a quicker than expected return with the pair set to meet the London Irish players this week.
Relegation looks guaranteed for the club so it would suggest the recruitment is with a long-term vision in mind. Kidney has not worked in a head position since 2013 but the Irishman has been involved at UCC as a director of sport.
