Clermont defeated Bordeuax in their Champions Cup Pool 2 game on Friday night. The game had originally been scheduled for November but was postponed due to the terror attacks on Paris.
Less than ten minutes in the second half, with Clermont already having built up a 13 point lead, any chance Bordeaux had of getting back into the game was wiped out by one of their own players.
On the field just a minute as a substitute for Berend Botha, second row Julien Le Devedec chose to connect his head with that of Paul Jedrasiak.
Irish referee Peter Fitzgibbon was left with not choice but to show Le Devedec a red card for 'leading with the head'.
Not the most forceful headbutt you're ever going to see, but he gave the official no choice nonetheless.
He had only been on for a minute! @UBBrugby replacement Julien Le Devedec red-carded for head-butt. #ChampionsCup https://t.co/Pp6oqwvkhb
