Part of a concentrated effort to boost jersey sales undoubtedly, the IRFU have appeared to overlook the fact that the alternative kit Ireland are wearing against South Africa does not make for an easy distinction between both teams.

With South Africa wearing their traditional shade of green in this evening's game in the Aviva, Ireland have opted for a less usual grey number - with some trimmings of green on the sleeve.

All in all, it has led to some serious confusion for anyone watching the match.

While the resting smoke of a firework display didn't do much by way of aiding viewers at home, the reaction to this oversight has been quickly pounced upon.

Despite not many people being happy with how the kit looks in the first place, the clash is sure to make things confusing as the game progresses.

Even the referee looked to be having a bit of trouble distinguishing the two.
