Tadhg Furlong is a world-class tighthead. His scrummaging is peerless, he contributes around the field with monumental carries and his breakdown work is exceptional. Despite all of this, it appears that New Zealand are still unfamiliar with him.
Now is the time where we reflect on the year that has passed, remember the highs and the lows and pay tribute to them. For the All Blacks, they have done so by posting their 2017 best pictures on Instagram, like this one of Codie Taylor and English hooker Jamie George:
The only problem is, originally the caption referenced a different Lions player:
All Blacks hooker Codie Taylor shares a smile with Lions front-rower Tadhg Furlong following the drawn Lions series in July.
The wave of comments quickly prompted them to change it, even Furlong himself took time to respond:
It's often said that the Kiwis don't pay heed to the Northern hemisphere, although when he's the best tighthead in the world, that excuse lacks substance. He did also have a fantastic tour with the Lions alongside George and Mako Vunipola.
It's been a pleasure to play with these gents! @lionsofficial #frontrowunion #787 #819 #818 pic.twitter.com/9aIlFNBN4d

Furlong will have his chance to remind the Kiwis who he is with Ireland confirmed to take on New Zealand at least once in 2018.
