This is not the first time that referee Ben Whitehouse has come to our attention while officiating a game involving Connacht.
Towards the end of November, during Connacht's historic win against Munster at Thomond Park, Whitehouse gave a dressing down to John Muldoon.
On Saturday, a victory for Connacht against Scarlets moved them level on points with the Welsh side at the top of the Pro12.
During the second half, with Connacht leading, Whitehouse had some stern words for Scarlets centre Hadleigh Parkes.
Whitehouse is not long in the professional game. He was appointed as a pro ref last summer by the WRU, aged just 24.
Despite his youth, he's taking no crap in the Pro12.
Whitehouse thought he heard Parkes say 'Ref you're haing an effin' laugh, though he was not absolutely certain. We're going to presume also that Parkes did not say 'effin'. The young official left Parkes with no doubt what would happen if he heard such words uttered in his direction again.
I have my suspicions that you shouted 'Ref you're having an effin laugh' but I'm not 100% sure; I'd be guessing. If anyone speaks to me like that, they will take no further part in this game. Do you understand me?
