It was almost a perfect day for Ireland. A comfortable win over Wales and escaping from Cardiff injury free would have been ideal. The first part of that was achieved, unfortunately, the second part hasn't been with the IRFU today confirming that Tommy O'Donnell suffered a hip dislocation that will rule him out of the World Cup.

The IRFU's statement confirmed that the Munster man would be out of contention for Schmidt's final squad.
Investigations at University Hospital Wales yesterday afternoon confirmed that Tommy O'Donnell suffered a hip dislocation in the game against Wales.
He will be limited to non-weight bearing activity for at least six weeks and has unfortunately been ruled out of participating in the upcoming Rugby World Cup.
There has also been an update on a knock that Andrew Trimble sustained during the 35-21 win in Cardiff with the IRFU stating that he will have 'a precautionary scan on the foot injury he sustained'.
