'I would like to withdraw those comments and apologies profusely and unreservedly.' Neil Francis has spoken on The Last Word this evening and apologised for his comments around homosexuality in sport.
Speaking about his remarks on Off the Ball yesterday, Francis said his points were poor and poorly expressed 'It didn't sound like me at all. I realise that I was in a field of land mines and I stood on one of two.'
'On reflection I probably said the wrong things.'
Rugby referee Nigel Owens was also a guest on the show, and said that he accepts Francis' apology, provided it is genuine.
