The Welsh were enraged last week when Keith Wood said he thought Ireland would beat Wales. To be fair, he did say that he thought Ireland would win by more than one score.
Both Neil Francis and he were targeted in an outraged editorial on the day of the game and addressed personally in the gleeful post-match coverage.
Wood said he could take whatever slagging came his way, but insisted that his pre-match comments weren't as dismissive as they were painted by the Welsh press.
Appearing on Off the Ball tonight, Wood recounted that he was seated beside Shane and Martyn Williams and said that during that famous seven minute spell in which Wales repelled an Irish attack, the three of them dispassionately called a number of penalties against Wales.
And he expressed his disbelief at the touch judge's calling (for it was he who alerted Wayne Barnes to it) of the last scrum.
The scrum wasn't whipped around, it was pushed around. You can see that Ireland are in the ascendency To look at the disbelief on Martyn William's face beside me. He got a very nervous and embarrassed giggle when he saw the penalty had gone the other way because it just didn't make any sense.
