It came as somewhat of a shock when it was announced that Alun Wyn Jones had retired from international rugby in the buildup a few months back.
The Welshman was one of the greatest players of his generation, becoming the most capped international rugby player of all-time on his way to racking up 158 appearances for the nation, as well as playing in 12 Lions tests.
It had been expected that the 37-year old would have his swansong with the side at this year's Rugby World Cup, although it has not turned out that way. After falling out of favour after the return of Warren Gatland, he announced that he would retire from test rugby ahead of the tournament.
Alun Wyn Jones praised for classy Toulon gesture
While his compatriots are now preparing for the event, Alun Wyn Jones has opted to embark on a new experience in France. He recently joined Top 14 side Toulon, penning short-term deal with the club.
He made his debut for the side earlier this month, playing in front of the home supporters for the first time over the weekend. The second row would in the 19-14 victory over Bayonne at the weekend, but it was his actions after the final whistle that garnered the most attention.
After the end of the game, he would make his way onto the pitch to gather up some rubbish that had made its way onto the playing surface.

A class act.
Alun Wyn Jones' deal with Toulon only runs for the length of the Rugby World Cup, although it has been suggested that it could be extended further.
The Welshman will be given one final opportunity to appear for the country when they face The Barbarians in Cardiff in November, a fixture in which he is sure to receive quite the sendoff from the home supporters.
