There are sore heads galore in Limerick on this fine Tuesday morning, after an a weekend of partying following Munster's URC final win on Saturday, which was extended by their epic homecoming at Thomond Park yesterday.

One lady that took full part in the festivities was Alan Quinlan's mother Mary, who travelled to Cape Town for the game against the Stormers, and also managed to make it back for the homecoming.

A worried Alan Quinlan tweeted yesterday, asking if anybody had seen Mary, as he wanted her to come home because she had been 'on the tear' again.

If anyone spots my mum in Thomond park tonight. Tell her to go home she’s only back from Capetown this morning and on the tear again. She told me earlier that she was very tired and going to bed early and then I get sent pictures of her in the middle of it

Ronan O'Gara then chimed in and said "Mary is more craic than you!!", before Alan Quinlan hit back with, "I was no craic because I'd to put you to bed every night".

It was not the first time Mary had taken a trip to support Munster down in South Africa. In 2018 she made the journey to watch the Cheetahs host Munster, and can be seen in the clip below celebrating afterwards.

Retired referee Nigel Owens also responded to Quinlan's tweet by sharing a brilliant anecdote of his post-match talks with Mary when he would be reffing in Thomond Park.

My highlight of refereeing at Thomond Park was always have a chat with your mother after the game. Especially when she always told me “don’t you take any nonsense from my son Nigel you have my permission to sort him out
