Saracens travelled to Welford road on Christmas Eve looking to arrest a run of seven consecutive defeats. Late October, a 44-13 win against London Irish was the last time Mark McCall's side had won a game.
Their attempts to halt that shocking run got off to an excellent start: they led 17-0 after 26 minutes through tries from Owen Farrell and Jamie George.
Though, the home side would get back into the game less than five minutes later. Matthew Tait was the scorer of the try but it was all about the resolve and inventiveness of Adam Thompstone.
The winger bounced his way through tackles and looked as though he was about to be slammed into touch. Before that happened, he showed incredible awareness to offload to Tait.
