Ireland's Six Nations win was an undoubted highlight of the sporting year, and not just on this side of the Irish Sea. Some of our nearest neighbours may not have enjoyed Saturday night as much as we did but nonetheless, the nature of the Championship finale was such that it was big news everywhere.
As such, Sky News rolled out the Skype machine for Alan Quinlan on Sunday morning and we are so damn glad they did. Quinlan gave a throughly professional interview from his home in Tipperary despite the fact that his son, A.J. was making things difficult.
As kids tend to do on a Sunday morning, A.J. was in the mood for a bit of messing including tackling his old man and, best of all, a less than subtle nose pick and wipe on his jumper. A live Sky News interview is not the best time to be minding the kids.
Unfortunately, not everyone is glued to Sky News on a Sunday morning. Word got out about the interview but footage was difficult to find.
@proctorkaren oh Jesus I hope not. Ha.

Sorry Alan...
Someone give Alan Quinlan's son his own TV show.
I checked my jumper for the snot from Aj. It was a blank thankfully. #nice

Thanks for all the funny tweets about my son joining in on my interview. I'm still laughing and mortified. It could have been a lot worse.
