It was a fiesty affair in Marseilles yesterday when Leinster went very close to beating Toulon in the Champions Cup semi final. There were several cynical acts of foul play, but this incident in the second half between two replacements.

Toulon replacement lock Jocelino Suta took exception to the action of Leinster's replacement hooker Richardt Strauss at a ruck. He proceeded to wrap his arm around Strauss' neck, before pulling him to the ground. Arms around the neck counts as dangerous or reckess play, and it's clear that Suta's actions should not be acceptable in sport.

Referee Wayne Barnes gave a penalty for the incident, but didn't sanction Suta further with a card it probably deserved.

The vine below shows the horrifying moment as you realise that Richardt Strauss is struggling to breathe, and is frantically trying to get Suta to let him go.

There has been no news of a citing from this incident as of yet, but there is a 48 hour window for the citing commissioner to decide that Suta has a case to answer for.
