The world renowned Tough Mudder challenge is coming back to Ireland this July.
If you don't know about it already, you will. It's the one of the greatest, craziest, most ridiculous, and most satisfactory things you can ever do in your life.
It takes a special type of person to enter a Tough Mudder challenge. It challenges your physical and mental wellbeing, but you will come out of it with the biggest, muddiest smile you will ever have in your life.
The 10-12 mile obstacle course brings you together will all sorts of people, as you form new friendships, join teams and have some of the greatest fun you won't be able to get anywhere else.
If you don't believe me, then I challenge you to watch the following video. It will make you do want to do more than just walk through walls. You'll want to wade through mud, ice and climb over anything in your way.
If you are human and have the same reaction as me, you can sign up to that race right now by clicking on this link.
The event is in Loughcrew Adventure Centre in Co.Meath, costs €109, and will tick something off your new bucket list. You can go to toughmudder.ie to have a look at the video from last year's Irish event, which was the first one in Ireland and had 5,000 people creating memories that they will never forget.
There are new and improved obstacles for those that take on the challenge, with last year's favourites the Arctic Enema, and ElectroShock Therapy returning:
While this totally new obstacle won't be that physically demanding, and seemed to be a piece of cake judging by the non-plussed reaction of those hard souls in the video:
This is in addition to other favourites that aren't even part of the course like the Ring of Fire, the Dead Ringer, and the Hamster Wheel:
You can check out the rest of the videos of the obstacles at the official Tough Mudder youtube challenge that also feature helpful tips for those who haven't done it before, and training tips to help you prepare. This event isn't just for adults, as this year will have it's own "Fruit Shoot Mini Mudder" course for ages seven and higher that include obstacles called the Secret Agent Squeeze and Gooey Shoes:
