One of the great factors in Ireland's success under Joe Schmidt has been the depth of the squad. It feels like there are only injuries to two or three players which could derail this team. Otherwise, we have players capable of filling in all over the pitch.
Jared Payne and in particular Robbie Henshaw have both played well in the Irish midfield but there are players putting pressure on them for starting berths.
Speaking to RTE, Henshaw praised both Keith Earls and Luke Fitzgerald for their form in training.
The boys are training really well and the competition is driving us to improve more week in, week out. So, that only makes it more interesting I think. It drives us on as well and we’re going to keep trying to improve ourselves.
I think the lads training against us are really sharp and running really well. Keith Earls and Luke Fitzgerald are driving myself and Jared on at the moment.
