Hearing that a rugby player is out of a game through injury is so common that most people wouldn't bat an eyelid. Hearing that it happened outside of a game and training might lead a few to question it, but hearing that a player was attacked by a dog is another step still.
Italian rugby legend Martin Castrogiovanni needed 14 stitches after what the Italian rugby federation said was a "slight domestic incident". The incident happened when he was playing with a friend's dog and the dog ended up biting him in the nose.
Castrogiovanni is now likely to sit out this week's game against Scotland, and will have to wait for his 110th Italy cap.
