As is the custom now, if there's any sort of scandal, trivial or not-so-trivial, then 'gate' is stuck on the end of it. So after some off-duty Air New Zealand staff allegedly got drunk on a flight carrying the All Blacks, abused other staff members and then one of them 'cuddled' with a player, the World's no.1 ranked team became caught up in "cuddlegate".
The episode is supposed to have happened aboard an Air New Zealand flight taking the All Blacks home from Los Angeles last Thursday.
A spokesperson for the airline said:
There was a suggestion that some of the crew travelling back to New Zealand as passengers may have consumed too much alcohol and the matter is currently under investigation.
Given this is an employment issue, Air New Zealand will not be commenting further.
