According to Gerry Thornley, French rugby is known for it's trench warfare, which each game being more of a battle than a rugby match. Well, here is your proof. This game, from Federale 3 between two clubs in North Catalonia. The game featured 6 red cards, four for the incident below in the first four minutes of the game.
It starts off with a normal scrum that goes wrong very quickly. The front rows start to pop up, and then all hell breaks loose. This isn't your typical schamozzle or handbags incident.
Our favourite bit occurs about 20 seconds in with No.14 in white starts to pick a fight with an opposition flanker, before immediately regretting his decision. His attempted punches are the least aggressive thing about this video.
