Joe Schmidt names only two of the same starting XV that recorded a famous victory over the Springboks last Saturday in the Ireland team to face Georgia. Gordon D'Arcy and Darren Cave are the latest contenders for the coveted midfield roles for Ireland, which sees only Munster's Simon Zebo retain his place from the backline. Ulster's Craig Gilroy's return to form sees him included, while Ian Madigan,Felix Jones and Eoin Reddan are all promoted from the bench to starting positions.
The pack sees two debutants for Ireland with another potentially off the bench. Leinster's Dominic Ryan is included after a strong start to his season while Munster's Dave Foley is finally included after an impressive 12 months, while Robin Copeland's move to Munster looks like it's got him involved in the Irish set up, as his Cardiff form is rewarded. Mike Ross's lack of gametime recently means he gets another run out. This also confines Rodney Ah You to remain with a bench place, with all of the other replacements last week being elevated to a starting position. This means that the likes of Jack McGrath, Paul O'Connell, Jonny Sexton, Conor Murray and Rob Kearney are all rested with Australia on the horizon.
Rhys Ruddock's impressive unexpected start last week looks to have earned him a rest with next week in mind, meaning that the back row of Munster pair Copeland and O'Donnell, together with Ulster's South African born Robbie Diack will be charged with competing against an impressive Georgian backrow.
