Shane Williams

The Welsh legend Shane Williams has retired from rugby after a number of seasons playing in the Japanese Top League. Now that he has retired, he'll have a lot more time to give attention to his spectacular beard, which is 1/4 the size of the wee man himself. Here at balls HQ, we salute the diminutive winger, who showed us that ability is a lot more important than size when playing rugby to the highest levels. Here are some of our favourite tries from Williams through the years:

Shane Williams possessed wonderful speed, balance and agility. His sidestep was outstanding, as you can see.

 

A lot of Williams's career highlights come after 2008, but this sidestep on Bryan Habana was outstanding:

Williams then scored 4 tries in the next two years that were deemed worthy enough to be nominated for the IRB try of the year awards. They were:
