Frank Lampard's second tenure as Chelsea manager has been horrific to say the least. Four games, four defeats and the club are sitting in 11th place in the Premier League. With over £600 million spent since last summer, it's been nothing short of a nightmare season for the Blues.
Since Todd Boehly bought the club, it's clear that the American businessman's answer to solving problems has been to either throw money around or kick managers out the door.
With Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and now Frank Lampard all struggling to get this stacked Chelsea squad performing to the standard they should be, questions have to be asked of the decision making higher up.
Merson on Frank Lampard's Chelsea
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Wednesday, former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson said that Chelsea need to appoint a new manager soon.

Merson said:
They need to get the manager in now. They need to sort it now.
This is no disrespect to Frank (Lampard), but they got to go "right who do we want, who do we get? " You go in now. There's four, five, six games to go . You can tinker around who's going to be there next year.
He's (Frank Lampard) got to go. He knows he's only in there for a short time anyway. Frank knows he was there for the short term, he was there for the Champions League games. That's what he was there for, they're not going up the league.
Paul Merson also spoke about the need to offload players as soon as possible.
You read about what Thiago Silva said, they had to knock the dressing room through. You can't have 30 players. Even if you have 11 v 11, you've got eight players sitting out. It's impossible. We're talking about international footballers, you've got to get the manager in.
Chelsea are in a bit of a problem here and they need to get it sorted quickly.

Merson's views are likely shared by the majority of Chelsea fans and despite the nostalgia around the return of Frank Lampard, it's clear he has a long way to go before being able to manage at an elite level.
