It looks highly unlikely that Rhian Brewster will still be at Liverpool beyond at the end of the current transfer window. The 20-year old was not included in the second-string side that defeated Lincoln City last night, perhaps hinting that a move could be close.
It remains to be seen if he leaves Anfield on a permanent or temporary basis. It is believed that Jurgen Klopp is open to selling the player, but the club would like to include a buyback clause in any deal.
Crystal Palace are the club thought to be most keen on signing the striker on a permanent deal, with a fee of up to £25million mooted.
For now, a loan move seems more likely. Brewster is drawing no shortage of interest, with a number of Premier League clubs looking to bring him onboard for the current season.
The likes of Sheffield United, Aston Villa, and Brighton have all been linked. The Blades seem the most likely of that bunch, with the club in the market for a forward and Chris Wilder not exactly batting away suggestions of their interest.
As for Jurgen Klopp, has perhaps hinted that Brewster was on his way out of the club. When asked about the player's absence from the Lincoln City game, he said:
It should not surprise you, these kind of things. We don’t really speak about transfer rumours.
He was not in the squad. You can make of it what you want. There’s nothing really to say about it. No news.
With a couple of weeks remaining in the transfer window, we would expect to see Brewster seal a move sooner rather than later.
Brighton's interest could wain with the news that they are set to sign Andi Zeqiri, but the other two clubs remain a real possibility.
Sheffield United would be an ideal fit, with Chris Wilder's habit of starting two strikers meaning he would receive plenty of playing time.
