Jurgen Klopp has landed an interesting dig towards Arsenal ahead of their clash on Sunday. Liverpool will host the league leaders at Anfield in the hope of getting their season back on track, with victory granting them a spot in the top 5.
Arsenal have been impressive this season, and looked particularly dominant in their 3-1 win in last weekend's North London Derby. However, the challenge for Arteta's team this season is going to be consistently performing at a high level if they are going to challenge for the title.
Liverpool, however, have looked far from their best so far. Picking up just 10 points from their first 8 games, Liverpool will be looking to re-invigorate their season this weekend.
Jurgen Klopp aims dig at Arsenal
When asked about the significance of Arsenal signing Gabriel Jesus in the summer, Jurgen Klopp took a shot at Arsenal's quality as he joked about Manchester City letting Jesus leave to a lesser club.
I know City wouldn't have sold him to every club, but with Arsenal obviously the distance was big enough...geographically
Choice words from the Liverpool manager, his side currently sitting 9 places and 11 points behind the league leaders. Klopp's words will add to Arsenal's motivation as they will look to win at Anfield for the first time in the league since September 2012.
Klopp's comments may come back to bite him as Arsenal come into this game following victory in Europe on Thursday, as well as victory in the North London Derby last weekend.
🗣 "I don't think City would have sold him to every club, but with Arsenal the distance was big enough."

Jurgen Klopp on Gabriel Jesus
Jurgen Klopp was asked about Gabriel Jesus and the threat he will pose to Liverpool this weekend. Klopp acknowledged that Jesus has been in fine form this season, scoring 5 goals and registering 4 assists in in all competitions. Even when he is not directly involved in the goals, Jesus' overall play is excellent.
The Liverpool manager recognises how dangerous the Brazilian will be this weekend, as he is playing with a new-found confidence to his game and discusses the difficulty in playing against him.
He's flying at the moment, he's full of confidence. That's what confidence does to top quality, top class players. If you don't have to play against them, it's easy to enjoy what he's doing at the moment. It's our opponent for the weekend so we have to make sure that he will stop flying for a weekend.
