On each episode of The Buildup podcast, one pundit takes a punt at a bet of over 25/1 in what we dub the Big Shout.
This week, I was tasked with coming up with a bet that adhered to the rules, all while having a slight chance of coming true. So, I decided to go with a double, with one leg virtually guaranteed and the other slightly more pie in the sky.
Leg 1 - Tottenham over 1.5 goals in the first half vs Newcastle - 21/10
As one Mark Farrelly has said repeatedly, Newcastle are "goosed". With those words echoing in my ears, I've plumped for Spurs to notch over 1.5 goals in the first half of their match on Sunday. Not only are they playing at home, but they've scored five goals already this season and will be buoyed by their draw against Manchester City last week. If Troy Parrott starts, this would be an absolute banker.
Leg 2 - Luka Milivojevic to score anytime and Crystal Palace to lose - 7/1
Picture it now: Wilfried Zaha, with his close control at high-speed, powering past his former teammate Aaron Wan-Bissaka, all whilst bursting into the penalty area. Then, Victor Lindelof steps across to help his floundering full-back, but overstretches in an attempt to win the ball. Zaha falls to the floor. Penalty for Crystal Palace. It may sound exact, but I have a vision. Up steps Luka Milivojevic, the man who never misses penalties, to slot the spot kick home. This match will end up finishing 3-1 to Manchester United, but I believe in Luka.
Total bet - 36.2/1 Double
If you've got a Big Shout of your own, send your shout to [email protected], or even hit us up on Twitter or Instagram to be in with a chance to win two cakes and a sports biography. Your shout must come to over 25/1 and, as if it wasn't obvious, must actually come in.
