Over the last few weeks, we've been chronicling life in the Irish Defence Forces, as soldiers embark on life in the military. We've documented the grueling tests required of those who protect Ireland's shores, but keeping the peace abroad is also a massive part of life in the Irish Defence Forces.
And to get a sense of how Irish soldiers prepare for the dangers of real life peacekeeping, we traveled deep into the Glen of Imaal in Wicklow.
In this video, we encounter a unit of the Irish Defence Forces as they prepare for a mission to south Lebanon. They will heading out on a joint peacekeeping mission with members of the Finnish army. The point of this activity will be to prepare the Irish soldiers for anything and everything that they might encounter.
If you think you have what it takes to work in the Irish military, the Defence Forces want to hear from you.
