2018 is already looking pretty brilliant for cinema, and the year gets off to a bang on February 16 when Black Panther opens in Irish movie theatres. The film, one of the most hyped Marvel movies in ages, boasts the brilliant Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station) as director and seems likely to build on the Marvel momentum generated by the uproarious Thor: Ragnorak. Chadwick Boseman, Michael B Jordan and Lupita Nyong'o star in this film created from the cult comic book of the same name.
Social media embargoes on Black Panther were lifted last night and the tweets were almost unanimously ecstatic from the critics who'd seen previews.
The social media embargo for #BlackPanther has lifted.
I cried #thugtears, laughed, yelled at the screen and had a rollercoaster of a good time.
See this film as soon as you can, as many times as you can. #wakandaforever pic.twitter.com/aBGn8lAmZ9— shut the fvck up when u hear love talking. (@iamkevitoclark) January 30, 2018
Social embargo just lifted for #BlackPanther! What a visually vibrant movie! Great moments of humor and fun that don’t overshadow the message. The technology and gadgets in this movie are drool-worthy! Not sure the violence is kid friendly, but everyone else will love this flick pic.twitter.com/XVEPADfpHG

@GailSimone the Black Panther embargo has been lifted. 72 reviews are out. 100% positive. This is how comic movies should be--honoring source material, honoring the art of film and color palates, honoring the fans. I am so ready. pic.twitter.com/ZkPDNJETZz
