Team Ireland went into Friday at the Los Angeles games with a huge 33 medals already from six days, and ended up doubling that number with a haul of eight golds, 18 silvers and 11 bronzes on Friday to bring the total medal numbers to 70.
14 of those medals came in the gymnastics with 15-year-old Billy Kane from Swords winning one gold, three silvers, and a bronze in a remarkable day. Billy's brilliant day was added to by teammate Paul Kean from Ferns who will be taking one a gold, a silver and a bronze.
There was a gold medal too for Irish golfer with Margaret Carr, while Leo O'Brien, Oliver Doherty, Jill Connery, Ursula McDonnell and Rosemary O'Reilly took silvers, and Paul Kirrane and Patrick Rutherford winning bronzes.
