The World Pool Masters are on in Gibraltar at the moment, in case you didn't know. And Japanese player Naoyuki Oi has progressed to the quarter-finals after a first round victory over Cheng Yu-Hsuan, you might be glad to hear.
All of this is fairly banal stuff. But the same could not be said of Oi's interview after winning the match. The world number 36's behaviour left interviewer Tony Wrighton quite stunned - they don't teach you how to deal with this kind of an interviewee in journalism school (at least, we assume they don't).
Oi reacts to his lack of English by randomly yelling "My name is Naoyuki Oi. Today very lucky. Congratulation me! Yay!" before eventually going on to mimic the act of procreation (we assume that's what he's doing, anyway). Yes, it really is that weird. Have a watch.
Weird pool player interview
Naoyuki Oi's interview on Sky Sports is the funniest thing you'll see this week 😂 https://t.co/P2ABv0Ly28
