27 years after he hit the first ever nine-darter at a World Championships, Paul Lim again made waves on darts' biggest stage.
The 63-year-old Singaporean caused an upset at Alexandra Palace on Monday night when he stunned Mark Webster 3-2. Earlier in the evening, Lim had beaten Kai Fan Leung in a preliminary round game.
Lim played his first World Championship in 1982. That was a year before Mark Webster was even born.
The 'Paul Lim Barmy Army' was fully behind the veteran last night.

Speaking to PDC Darts after his win, Lim said that he no longer thinks of the sport as a job.
A lot of people ask me, 'Why are you still doing this?' I think so much that it's not a job anymore because I don't really need that. If I ever lose the passion that I feel for darts right now, I'd rather just stay back and fish and golf because that's all that I do right now. I get excited, I still do.
Lim will face Gary Anderson in the last-32 on Friday. It's the first time since 2001 that Lim has reached this stage of the tournament.
Paul Lim a credit to the game best of luck on Friday. Gutted, but lost to the better player onto 2018
