The Venice Marathon took place yesterday amid flooded streets, with runners having to brave more elements than expected due to adverse weather conditions.
This video, uploaded by the Guardian, shows runners doing their best to get through the gruelling task up to their ankles in water, and on 43 seconds, Balls believes/wants to believe we see a rotund man wearing an Offaly jersey absolutely ploughing through the water at breakneck speed, showing the type of pace that Sean Cronin often displays when on one of his trademark bursts.
While it is not conclusive that the man is indeed wearing an Offaly jersey, one can hope, and if anyone happens to know for certain who this athlete is and would like to confirm his origin, we here at Balls would be forever grateful.
