These are heady days. Gary and Paul O'Donovan confirmed their status as among this island's greatest sportspeople by winning gold in the lightweight double sculls at the World Championships in Bulgaria this morning. It is the first time that an Irish boat has ever won world championship gold in an Olympic event.
The brothers rowed a perfect race, and pulled clear in the final stages to leave the final 500 metres without a shred of doubt as to who would win.
They spoke to RTE after the race, in which they revealed they had been on the town in Plovdiv until 2am that morning. Enjoy another O'Donovans interview below.
