For someone in their teens or early 20s, it might be hard to believe, but there was a time when basketball was huge in Ireland.
In the 80s teams began to import Americans deemed not good enough for the NBA but still adequately skilled to play ball professionally.
Halls all over the island drew capacity crowds to see the sport played at a level never before seen in this country.
