Fallon Sherrock took the darts world by storm during her appearance at the World Championships last month. A female player had never won a game at the event prior to the 2019 edition, but the Englishwoman would go on to create history.
Sherrock defeated Ted Evetts in the first round, before dispatching of former world number five Mensur Suljović to reach the third round.
While that would be as far as she would advance, it is fair to say Sherrock has greatly enhanced her reputation on a global stage. She has already been named as a 'challenger' in the 2020 Premier League, which will see her take part in week two of the event in Nottingham.
Sherrock decided not to take part in the upcoming BDO Women's World Championship due to the paltry prize money on offer, with only £8,000 being made available to the winner. Instead she will spend much of her time appearing at men's events, starting this weekend.
Sherrock, alongside a number of star players such as Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen, will take part in a tournament in the Celebrity Darts World Cup in German city Bonn accoring to broadcaster ProSieben.
As the name suggests, professional players will be joined by well-known names from outside the world of darts in the event. One of those is former Italy striker Luca Toni, the former Bayern Munich and Juventus striker who retired in 2016.
German forward Max Kruse is also taking part.
We look forward to seeing how Toni fares in his quest to add a Celebrity Darts World Cup medal to the less significant crown he claimed back in 2006.
