Ireland have brought home a silver medal at the European Rowing Championships. The women's four boat of Natalie Long, Aifric Keogh, Tara Hanlon, and Eimear Lambe, finished second in their 'A', just 2.07 behind Great Britain.
The team finished a second ahead of Romania in third, while Denmark just missed out on a medal by half a second.
Keogh and Lambe were part of the women's four who took home bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, where they had pipped Great Britain to a podium spot.

Fiona Murtagh and Emily Hegarty, who completed the Olympic boat, were competing in the earlier women's pair final, where they finished in fourth place behind Romania, Great Britain, and the Netherlands. They were ten seconds behind first and five behind third spot.
Ireland will take part in four 'A' finals tomorrow at the Championships. Aoife Casey competes in the single sculls final at 10:36, Steven McGowan and Katie O'Brien will row in the mixed double sculls at 10:52, Olympic champions Fintan McCarthy and Paul O'Donovan go in the men's lightweight double sculls at 11:26, and Lydia Heaphy and Margaret Cremen compete in the lightweight women's double sculls at 11:43.
