Becky Lynch forced Carmella to tap out and outlasted four other superstars to become the first ever SmackDown Women's Champion at Backlash on Sunday night.

The Baldoyle woman was the pre-fight favourite with the bookies, and refrained from getting too involved early as things legitimately kicked off, as Naomi took out the field with a crazy springboard to the outside that wiped out the other five wrestlers and Natalya hit a huge powerbomb superplex on Carmella and Nikki Bella.

Alexa Bliss was the first woman eliminated, and Nikki Bella ended by Carmella just seconds after knocking out Natalya.

That left Becky and Carmella, and the Dubliner joined her compatriot and trainer as the second Irish person to win a WWE world title in the space of three weeks by locking in her signature move, the 'Dis-arm-her'. She made her own history in the process, becoming the WWE's first ever Smackdown women's champion.
