'Tis amazing I shpose by all accounts!
Shteak and shpuds, batin' the Brits - it's all just 'a bit of craic' to Cork's O'Donovan brothers.
The Skibbereen duo have captured the hearts of a nation with their incredible post-race interviews, acknowledging to Newstalk yesterday that even they couldn't have foreseen their antics 'shpirallin' on the interweb' to the extent that they have.
Yesterday the brothers reached the Men's lightweight double sculls final after a compelling race which saw them see off Britain in the final stages, sparking arguably their finest moment to date.
What you might not have seen before, however, is Paul O'Donovan's vlog series which he recorded in association with Nissan months prior to Rio. One of the videos sees Paul driving to UCD for an exam with his fellow under-23 rower and UCD sports scholar David O'Malley.
Paul is positively fixated by the size of the boot in which he is carrying all of his gear, and puzzled as to how he's expected to fill it. He also brings up the fact that his mother used drive an Opel Astra which itself had a fine-sized boot - something the Nissan social media team were surely thrilled by - while pointing out the sheer majesty of technology while using his windscreen wipers.
It truly has to be seen to be believed, and trust us, it's impossible not to love this man more afterwards.
From Lisheen to Rio 2016. 'Tis amazing I shpose by all accounts.
Cheers to Skibbereen Rowing for sending this our way.
