The MTV Video Music Awards took place on Sunday night despite the fact that MTV haven't played a music video since 2004.
One of the most high-profile award shows around, the VMAs always attract the hottest musical talent of the past year along with the artists like Beyonce, Rihanna, Drake, and Kanye West, who won't be forgotten by the time the next one rolls around, but they also have a whole host of celebrities to give these people their awards.
Jimmy Fallon was tasked with giving out the award for Video of the Year, and he chose to do so dressed as Ryan Lochte, the disgraced US Olympic swimmer who has been all over the headlines recently. And Michael Phelps thought it was gas.
Fallon then claimed that he couldn't tell us who the winner of the award was, even if he had a gun to his head...

Which provoked gasps from the audience:

Ruthless from Fallon, but Lochte could have expected this type of public roasting for his shithousery in Brazil.
The VMAs and the swimming world collide, finally.
