Pat Hickey has today released a statement following his release from Bangu prison in Brazil.
It was published a few minutes ago, and is rather brief:
I have been released from the police detention system. I will now stay in Rio and my lawyers will proceed to have the charges laid against me set aside as there is no substantive proof of any wrong doing on my part.
I would like to thank the prison authorities for their kindness they have shown me. Due to my medical condition, I will be making no further statements.
Hickey has been in prison since August 18, and is now under house arrest. His release from prison comes four days after this statement by his family, stating that they were worried about his health.
