Paddy Barnes is at it again.

Barnes and his accomplice, fellow Olympic boxer Michael Conlan, have continued in Rio from where they left off in London 2012, by trying to get as many photographs with famous athletes as possible and posting them on Twitter. So far the pair have managed to get photos with figures like Mark Cavendish and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. In addition, Barnes has been entertaining his Twitter followers with some hilarious updates from the Olympic village.

And it is the unfortunate figure of Irish golfer Rory McIlroy, who decided not to travel the Games, who is currently feeling the brunt of Barnes' sharp wit.

Barnes bumped into McIlroy's one-time fiancée Caroline Wozniacki, who was Denmark's flag-bearer at the games, and the inevitable selfie he took with her led him to launch a cheeky dig at the county Down man:

But, on reflection, Barnes decided to delete the tweet. Perhaps he had decided to let McIlroy off the hook this time.

No chance.

Barnes tweeted the image again seconds later, only this time he copied Wozniacki in, for double effect:

This isn't exactly the first time Barnes has had McIlroy in his crosshairs. Barnes poked fun at McIlroy's reasoning for not competing in Brazil-the threat of the Zika virus-shortly after arriving in Rio.

Inevitably, Conlan has been getting in on the act as well. Bizarrely, Conlan bumped into one of McIlroy's best mates from the golf tour, Rickie Fowler-and he wasn't long in making the connection:

Conlan and Barnes' Twitter accounts are always good for a laugh, and what we have seen so far suggests there will be plenty more high jinks from the two before the Games come to a close.

Incidentally, Conlan opens his quest for gold on August 14th with a last 16 clash against either Aram Avagyan (Armenia) or Arashi Mariska (Japan). Barnes will step into the ring before him on August 8th with a last 16 match-up against Artur Havhannisyan of Armenia or Samuel Carmona of Spain.
