The party for the O'Donovan brothers moved to Skibbereen last night as multitudes turned out for the homecoming of the Olympic medalists.
The pair, carrying their silver medals and Paul his World Rowing Championship gold, paraded the streets on an open top bus.
Later, they were interviewed on RTÉ News by Eileen Whelan.
Borrowing a line from Father Ted, Paul O'Donovan made a guess at the turnout in Skibbereen.
There's loads of people in Skibbereen anticipating about 10,000 people. We reckon there's a good couple of times more than that. 7
We're not great at judging crowds but I'd say there's about a million... a couple of hundred thousand at least.
Asked what was next for them, Gary and Paul replied it was more partying.
There's a party in Lisheen then tomorrow night. We'll have to go to that too.
You're probably talking long term. We'll be back training in the next few weeks.
