Michael McKillop has stormed to a fourth Paralympic gold medal at the Rio Paralympic Games in the T37 1500 metres.
McKillop was made to work hard for his win, but not by Brad Scott, his longtime Australian rival. Liam Stanley from Canada, who was only a late entry into the race, stayed with McKillop until about 250 metres to go before the Belfast man pulled away.
The race had been led for a long time by Madjid Djemai of Algeria but his challenge died and McKillop was left to fight it out with Stanley before collapsing with exhaustion at the end.
At least now he has equal bragging rights with his mate Jason Smyth, who took gold in his 100 metres event on Friday.
